People-to-People
By Jakob Landberg Sales & Marketing Director
Nilpeter has always been a family company. But that doesn't mean we are standing still. A company like ours has its basic foundation in an innovative product programme.

Despite joining Nilpeter in 1999, I am still the new kid on the block. Most of my colleagues and Nilpeter friends are real 'label people' with years of experience in the industry – many stretching into double digits. This continuity in human capital, however, does not mean Nilpeter is standing still. In fact, the reverse is true. The last decade has witnessed a multitude of new trends and paradigm changes and the company has evolved with them. While we are still renowned for our ability to adapt to changes in the market and new ideas from key industry players, we have also maintained our reputation as a family company.

Globalisation
…has been the key word in terms of Nilpeter's development for the last decade, of both our company and our product programme. We now produce presses in Denmark, the US and Brazil and have local sales or service centres in more than 60 countries. This has been driven by the globalisation of brand owners and their desire to ensure consistent brand quality. Beyond that, our 'People-to-People' strategy is now in place and our vision is to be a truly local company – globally.
Consequently, we have focused on establishing local 'Nilpeter Families' close to our end users. Developing good relationships with people has been of paramount importance when entering countries or establishing new daughter companies. A good example is Nilpeter USA Inc., where we still employ 99 per cent of the original management team. Outsourcing has not been a big part of our strategy. We have invested heavily in modern production equipment with a focus on core processes needed for high-precision printing presses. The majority of all parts needed to manufacture the Nilpeter lines are still produced in-house.

Innovation is the key!
The label industry is very innovative – this goes for both printers and suppliers – and over time our product programme has undergone massive development. Just a few years ago the majority of presses were 6-colour and relatively simple – today the average is more than eight colours, with a possible combination of more than ten different printing and converting processes. A company such as ours is founded on innovation. In my short Nilpeter life we have modernised or fully changed the product programme three times.

Partnership is paramount!
But the most important focus for us is you – our partners, clients, customers and supply partners with whom we work closely together. All companies are people – and all dealings are 'People-to-People'. Welcoming new partners into the 'Nilpeter Family' is always a great experience, and I am looking forward to forging many more great relationships in the future.
