Ajanta Packaging was incorporated in the year 1952 as a commercial art studio and their first venture into printing happened in 1955. Consistent growth has followed ever since. Equipped with state of the art facilities at three production locations in India, the company produces duplex cartons, labels, posters, playing cards and other publicity material.

In the year 2000, they set out in a big way into labels and are one of the pioneers in the country to be using waterless offset technology to convert labels. Keeping pace with their consistent growth, they had to make a decision to acquire a full rotary flexo combination press so as to meet enhanced production requirements. The key, however, was not to lose out on the “high offset print” qualities and at the same time multiply production levels. This was the primary goal for them as their clientele includes the best label buyers from the FMCG and Pharmaceutical industry. It is in this regard that the Nilpeter FB-3300 servo press came up tops when they were doing their evaluation of various presses available in the market.
In the words of Mr. Chandan Khanna of Ajanta Packaging, “Nilpeter FB-3300 servo press fits our requirements of meeting the highest print quality, holding perfect register irrespective of speed, ease of operation and short make-ready times. After three months of successfully running it is now in our production facility and we can safely say that our judgement on the above counts at the time of various press evaluations were completely justified. The FB-3300 is a real workhorse.” When we asked Mr. Chandan Khanna that after installation of four waterless offset label presses in India, why did Ajanta wait so long for a flexo press when most of the industry already print on flexo or letterpress, he replied, "At Ajanta we are very clear that we will supply the best in quality, so that our customers have the best shelf appeal. I was never convinced of flexo quality vis-à-vis Offset. However, after a few test runs on the Nilpeter FB-Line, we could see that flexo quality has really come of age and is in fact very close to offset. This made our decision in favour of Nilpeter FB-servo very simple. Now, three months down the line after installation, I am very happy that my decision was perfect.” Here is another one “Happy Nilpeter Customer”.
