CASLON is a true industrial print concept, based on industrialised platforms, designed for heavy duty production. CASLON combines high quality digital printing with conventional printing and converting.
CASLON is an inkjet printsystem based on Xaar 1001 greyscale print head technology. The system consists of 4 print bars each with 5 (310 mm print width) or 6 (420 mm print width) print heads. The printing principle is 4 colour process CMYK in one pass. Inks are UV-curable.
The print system is mounted on a standard Nilpeter FAplatform (dual C-platform). The system can be configured as a "stand-alone" digital print engine, or incorporated as a module within a given FA-configuration. Existing FA-Line presses can be upgraded in-field with the CASLON print system. All CASLON systems require Corona pre-treatment as well as web cleaning.
CASLON will print on a variety of supported as well as unsupported standard substrates (paper and filmic). No pre-treatment (Corona always in-line) or pre-coating necessary. CASLON will automatically register towards any in-line print or converting-process (auto-register).
HMI and Digital Front-End
CASLON is equipped with a 17" colour touch monitor HMI for operator control. Simple on-demand print workflow, with advanced setup/fine-adjust features. ICC profile support together with especially optimised screening algorithms and 32-bit contone TIF-support ensure fast and optimised print quality without time consuming RIP'ing.
